With hope and joy the Algerians have had the chance to meet and exchange with their fellows, they had the chance also to sit together and learn from science and scientists.
The meeting was kicked off at 09:00 after the recital of few verses from the holy Quran; we stood after that to salute both the Algerian and Turkish national anthems. The gathering was honored by the presence of the official sponsors of the program as well as the Algerian ambassador in Turkey, Mr. Lahcen Boufares and the representative of Tossiali Company, Mr. Ibrahim Guendouz. The two officials shared their speech in which they highlighted the perspectives of the Turkish-Algerian relationship. The organization committee represented by the student Amira Ismahan Bedida, Architecture student, announced the official commencement of the forum.
For the record, the event was organized by the Algerian students’ club in Ankara in cooperation with Hezarfan for Science and culture in Istanbul.
The meeting’s gist was a set of scientific discussions with the two professors; winners of Wissam El-Alim El-djazairi (the Algerian Scientist Medal award), Dr. Djamel Mimouni; director of physical astronomy institute and Al-Shira Astronomy Association, and Dr.Mohamed Boulenouar Ziane; director of the Math institute of Engineering students at South California University and a researcher in practical mathematics. The discussions were run by Ibrahim Ouyaba; Physical Medicine student. The theme of the panel was mainly about “the passion to question and the spirit of science”. The personal experiences of the professors were a source of inspiration to the audience such as the story Al-shira Astronomy Association that was an example of contribution in pushing the level of scientific question forward in the Algerian context and a model of support of scientific research. The discussion was very insightful which made the students interact widely by their questions and comments.
The panel session was followed by “Dztalks” where the students from different universities in Turkey have given chance to demonstrate their activities and their academic experience as Algerians in Turkey. The first talk was presented by the student Ilyes Daddi Baba, the representative of Dz Ankara, and Computer Engineering student. Both thinkers highlighted the concept of Muslim Students’ Universality and clarified the value and the social responsibility of students.
